I was first introduced to Inika by the editor and Chief of ‘Lifescape Magazine’, an eco friendly magazine who really know their stuff when it comes down to all things enviroment friendly. Inika is an australian brand that was born in 2006 and founded by its creators Miranda Bond and Jenny Williams.

Inika is one of the first brands of makeup to be Halal certified which I think is amazing. I think all Vegan products should have this flexibility as it would have so much more appeal.

Inika unlike many other mineral makeup brands do not use’ bismuth oxychloride’, a well known skin irrartant, Inika is also free from harsh chemicals, parabens, preservatives, fragrace, GM ingridients and fillers. Inika is also free from talk, an ingridient which is commonly found in mineral makeup brands. Talk is used in most mineral powders and mimeral foundations, its the main ingridient which actually put me off mineral makeup for life. When talk is used in mineral products you will often find that your face looks dry and caked, the talk will sit in the areas such as wrinkles and deep set lines which looks absolutly awful not to mention how much it dry out the skin!!

Here are some of Inika’s Hero products enjoy 🙂

Inika Mineral Foundation with SPF 20 £25

This light but sheer foundation is truly amazing, apply on to skin and it practically melts into the skin, its soft, moisturising and has the most amazing glow. It provides you with a flawless and faultless coverage whilst giving you that radiant glow. No talk means, no blocked, clogged pores or flakey residue. Try it out… you’ll be amazed at how fabulous this Mineral Foundation really is! Inika foundations are also suitable and provide fabulous coverage for those who suffer with skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, pigmentation and scarring.

Inika certified Organic Lip Whip £14

Inika Lip Whips  don’t only provide a burst of colour but also deep moisturisation. These yummy Lip colours glide on with ease, are non sticky and actually taste yummy… (go grab one so you can have a lick) Much better than ingesting a Lip colour which has harsh chemicals!

Inika Certified Organic Eyeliner £11.50

What a cool invention from Inika, an eye pencil with a sharpener on its lid, no rushing around in the morning because you have a blunt pencil with no sharpener in sight. Inika’s eyeliner’s are rich, thick and glide on with such ease and precision. Inika’s eyeshadow’s work in harmony with their eyeliner’s, select two totally different shades i.e brown eyeliner and green eyeshadow, apply the eyeliner on the base and lightly dab some eyeshadow on top.. this gives you such an amazing pop of colour… try it and see!! Inika Eyeliner’s are available in 8 different shades.

Inika Kabuki Brush £23

I first set my eyes on this Kabuki Brush when I was at a Christmas in July event! Rachel (Boudoir Pr) had to pry the Kabuki brush from my kung fo grip, I stood there talking to her playing with this amazing soft brush and even when it was time to leave I went back for another feel. The bristles are sooo soft that you’d think it was real animal hair, I have never known a synthetic brush to be so soft!

Mineral Bronzer – Sunkissed approx £20

Inika brings us this versitle light bronzer. Apply to contour cheeks and compliment your foundation or dust over the whole face for a lovely sheen and glow. A beautiful colour that suits all 🙂

In all a very impressive brand who are Halal certified, Vegan certified and are 100% cruelty free. Inika do NOT  test on animals and all boxes and packaging is made from recycled materials.

Shiseido is taking skincare and makeup to the next level in terms of technology by introducing the new ‘Makeup Simulator Mirror’ the first of its kind to be seen in Europe. Until now this revolutionary counter technology was only available in Japan and is exclusive to Selfridges!!

The new Makeup Simulator is a unique virtual make-up application device equipped with a camera that captures movement and expression in real time. This is the only machine which succeeded to reflect real movement of the user while virtually realising makeup on the face.

The Makeup Simulator automatically identifies the facial features of the user with the installed camera allowing the user to experience a virtual makeup application session by choosing from the selection of Shiseido Makeup colours available in the simulation menu. Users can then freely combine products for the eye, lip and cheek in multiple combinations to find an ideal look without having to wash their face. Shiseido will provide software updates twice annually in line with colours for the new season.

Initially launched in 1997 in Japan, the first Makeup Simulator utilised still-image technology innovated by Shiseido’s Beauty Solution Development Centre and in collaboration with Fujitsu created several versions of the device. In 2007, the first motion-sensitive camera version was achieved and subsequently introduced at Mitsukoshi department store in Ginza. Four units of the model are permanently installed at The Ginza retail shop location in Tokyo. (Some text taken from press release)

So ladies… what are your thoughts on the Virtual Mirror? Isn’t this just taking away from a Makeup artists job or making it easier?? Would love to hear your thoughts!!

Amie Skincare was created by Ex Estee Lauder Marketing Executive, Fiona Parkhouse. Fiona was inspired by her daughters struggle to find gentle but affective and affordable products for her teenage skin.

I have been using the Amie range on and off for the last month or so, I get such a back log and many request to test out products, so please bare with me :). Heres what I thought of the range:

Amie Spring Clean Cooling Clay Mask- Formulated with white clay which helps to draw out deep-set impurities , control oil and blemishes, this fruity smelling mask really is a treat!! Active ingredients include Organic Peppermint, Lime Butter and Natural Zinc Oxide. I use this mask at least twice a week. It smells like heaven (a smell that reminds me of Lime starburst sweets) the mask is very cooling almost icey, being a clay mask this mask does dry, but doesn’t completely dry out like many other masks. Leave on for 10-15 mins and then rinse off with warm water, your skin is left clean, plump and silky smooth :).  RRP £4.95

Amie Bright Eyes Very Gentle Eye Make-up Remover- 100% oil free this gentle makeup remover removes even the toughest of eye makeup and mascara. Key ingredients include Meadow Flower and Chamomile to soothe and decongest, Grape Water to calm and cleanse and cooling cucumber to hydrate, soften and refresh. I like to apply this to two pieces of cotton pads and allow it to sit on the eyes for around 30 secs, this really allows the makeup to be melted but also provides a nice cooling mask for tired eyes. RRP £4.75

Amie Morning Clear Purifying Facial Wash- A delicate morning face wash which doesn’t leave your skin dry and stripped like most products. Morning Clear’s soap free formula workS in harmony with skin, not against it. Key ingredients include: Mayblossom known for its anti-bacterial action, Elderflower which helps to purify and decongest pores and Orange Blossom to control sebum production. This face wash is refreshing and does the job, your skin feels awake and clean!! RRP- £4.95

Amie Morning Dew Matte-finish Moisturiser- A matte moisturiser which leave skin hydrated and shine free. Key ingredients include: Organic Rosehip  to moisturise, Bilberry for Sebum control and Orange Blossom to clarify and control oily skin. Great moisturiser for oily skin types. A little goes a long way as with oily skin you do not need to use too much. RRP £4.95

Amie New Leaf Exfoliating Polish-  A moiturising but gentle face exfoliator which contains Bamboo beads and Jojoba Beads that gently cleanse deep into the pores whist smoothing away the dead skin cells left on the surface. Say hello to a non dull complexion with this amazing uplifting exfoliator. Packed with a moisturiser so it doesn’t dry out the skin. Key ingredients include: Mango seed and Cocoa seed which softens and moisturises the skin and Orange Blossom to clarify and control oily and congested skin. I recommend to use this product at least twice a week to see the maximum benefits. Apply on damp skin using gentle circular movements. RRP £4.75

The Amie skincare range is a brilliant range which uses skin friendly ingredients. It’s an amazing range for young skin and an easy range for those wanting to maintain healthy skin. I would recommend that all mothers buy this range for their teenagers, the price is very reasonable for the quality you receive.

Please do let me know if you test out the range, I would love feedback on how you got on. If you are already a user of the brand let me know your thoughts. 😉

Amie skincare is available to buy at John Lewis, Waitrose, Superdrugs and Boots. Also available at www.amieskincare.com

Everywhere I go I seem to be spreading the word of Green and Spring. As a beauty blogger you tend to be able to talk about beauty all day long, when asked what skincare I recommend you can be sure that Green and Spring is always mentioned.

The tradition of using herbs for health and beauty has a long history in the British Isles. Green & Spring has tapped into this rich legacy sourcing pure and natural ingredients, organic wherever possible, indigenous to Britain. In particular, the skincare range makes the very most of the abundance of natural resources found at Cowley Manor, including natural spring waters and herbs. Green & Spring combine these ingredients to create efficacious synergies. (text from press release)

So without further delay, here are the products I have been reviewing:

Rich Night Cream 70ml £38- A fabulously rejuvenating night cream… well I like to call it a night treatment. Its packed with essentials oils and extracts to create a really rich formula which really targets and penetrates your skin whilst you sleep. Rose, camomile and rose geranium help to soothe, balance and tone the skin. Carrot and evening primrose oils rich in antioxidants and vitamins A and E help to increase suppleness and reduce wrinkles and fine lines. The cream also contains marshmallow, comfrey and bilberry which are known to increase cellular renewal of skin. I use this Rich night cream every night with a few drops of Living Nature’s Radiance Night Oil. The cream has a lovely rich thick texture and a little goes a long way, the cream is sooo rich you don’t need too much (unless of course you have mature dry skin) Having combination skin I was worried about the consequences of using such a rich cream however to my surprise I never wake up with oily skin, my skin is always so fresh, clean and soft! I love this cream!!!!!

Refreshing Eye Cream 30ml £32-  Now… this eye cream for me is magic, I’m 24 years old with no signs of aging just yet (thank god) however, I think it is important to use products with great ingredients to prevent future damage. The one thing that I do have problems with is under eye dark circles. This refreshing eye cream helps to reduce puffiness and dark circles and also has lifting qualities. Ingredients such as soothing camomile, cucumber and witch hazel extracts all work together to cool, soothe and renew elasticity. So far for me, the best eye cream I have used!!

The Green and Spring range can be bought online at www.greenandspring.com and is also sold at Harvey Nichols nationwide 🙂
