Everywhere I go I seem to be spreading the word of Green and Spring. As a beauty blogger you tend to be able to talk about beauty all day long, when asked what skincare I recommend you can be sure that Green and Spring is always mentioned.

The tradition of using herbs for health and beauty has a long history in the British Isles. Green & Spring has tapped into this rich legacy sourcing pure and natural ingredients, organic wherever possible, indigenous to Britain. In particular, the skincare range makes the very most of the abundance of natural resources found at Cowley Manor, including natural spring waters and herbs. Green & Spring combine these ingredients to create efficacious synergies. (text from press release)

So without further delay, here are the products I have been reviewing:

Rich Night Cream 70ml £38- A fabulously rejuvenating night cream… well I like to call it a night treatment. Its packed with essentials oils and extracts to create a really rich formula which really targets and penetrates your skin whilst you sleep. Rose, camomile and rose geranium help to soothe, balance and tone the skin. Carrot and evening primrose oils rich in antioxidants and vitamins A and E help to increase suppleness and reduce wrinkles and fine lines. The cream also contains marshmallow, comfrey and bilberry which are known to increase cellular renewal of skin. I use this Rich night cream every night with a few drops of Living Nature’s Radiance Night Oil. The cream has a lovely rich thick texture and a little goes a long way, the cream is sooo rich you don’t need too much (unless of course you have mature dry skin) Having combination skin I was worried about the consequences of using such a rich cream however to my surprise I never wake up with oily skin, my skin is always so fresh, clean and soft! I love this cream!!!!!

Refreshing Eye Cream 30ml £32-  Now… this eye cream for me is magic, I’m 24 years old with no signs of aging just yet (thank god) however, I think it is important to use products with great ingredients to prevent future damage. The one thing that I do have problems with is under eye dark circles. This refreshing eye cream helps to reduce puffiness and dark circles and also has lifting qualities. Ingredients such as soothing camomile, cucumber and witch hazel extracts all work together to cool, soothe and renew elasticity. So far for me, the best eye cream I have used!!

The Green and Spring range can be bought online at www.greenandspring.com and is also sold at Harvey Nichols nationwide 🙂

Introducing AVON’S new release  to their ANEW skincare range: ANEW Platinum. This special formula is designed for mature skin and works best for woman aged 60 and over.

After over 3 years of research and development AVON are proud to announce the launch of ‘ANEW Platinum’ an anti aging serum which targets deep wrinkles, extreme dryness, neck sagging and loss of colour. This powerful formula contains paxillin a key protein that helps retain the expanded, youthful shape of skin cells. Overnight, the serum makes skin look and feel lifted and deep wrinkles appear reduced. In 3 days 69% of woman agree that it reshape’s facial features for a more youthful definition. In two weeks the serum reduces the look of neck lines,  lifting and firming the look of sagging skin under the chin and neck area, 33% of panelists showed an improvement in forehead frown lines.

Being that im only 24 and wouldn’t see the results of using this serum I have asked my lovely neighbour to test it for me which she has been doing for the last week. My Neighbour Linda who is 64 has the typical signs of aging including dry skin, neck sagging and deep wrinkles around the mouth and eyes. Linda found that the serum was very light and absorbed into her skin very quickly. She noticed the next morning that her neck was looking a lot better from the night before and as the days have gone on she has noticed a vast difference in neck lines and sagging. The lines on her face seem to be reduced but not quite at the same speed as the neck lines.

The retail value of ANEW Platinum is £31, my only concern is that this product is aimed at woman 60 and over, most at this age group would be pensioners and may find a serum at £31 a little too pricey. I think if less money was spent on packaging the retail value of the serum could be lower and more affordable for the age group it is aimed for. I would also recommend selling a 15ml size for first time buyers to try, this way if the serum does not suit their skin they don’t feel like they have wasted money. The serum seems to be a great formula and obviously does help to reduce signs of aging but the price should be more reasonable for the age group it is aimed for.

The ANEW Platinum Launches on the 12th September 2010 and is available to buy at www.avonshop.co.uk or from your local AVON rep. Ladies please let me know when you have given it a try, I wuld love to know what results you have had.

Introducing AVON’s SuperMagnify mascara, a new formula which coats each lash with precision ensuring your lashes look elongated all day long!

The water proof solution wraps around each individual lash for up to 600% more volume. The smooth glide formula containing micro beads allows the lashes to bounce off one another so flakes and clumps are not an issue. The mascara wand features a 1000 bristle brush to your whole lash is covered, leaving no lashes untouched.

I received this mascara a few days ago and for someone who is very picky when it comes down to her mascara’s I was VERY impressed with this one. I have very long, thick and full eyelashes so I need a mascara that is not too clumpy, something that lengthens my lashes and lasts all day long.

I had to compare this mascara with one that I was currently using,  I dressed one lash with my old mascara and one lash with the SuperMagnify, there was a vast different, the SuperMagnify dressed my lashes perfectly, elongating every strand of hair,t hey looked so pretty and chique whereas the other side looked clumpy and flaky. The one thing I did notice with the SuperMagnify is that I need to brush the lashes a few times to get them dark enough the formula could do with being a little darker with a slight thickness just to give the lashes a more fuller look but other than that this mascara scores top marks for me.

Try it out ladies and let me know how you get on

SuperMagnify £8.50 www.avonshop.co.uk or from your local AVON rep.

After cleansing your face with Paula’s Choice skin balancing cleanser and applying the fabulous Skin balancing toner (review to come shortly) You apply this magic non sticky, light weight gel over your face and then finish with Paula’s choice skin balancing gel.

This exfoliater gel glides on to the skin so easily, penetrating and minimising pores. I have noticed how clean and smooth my skin looks, I apply it either daily or every two days and it has worked wonders for me. I don’t break out as much and my pores seem minimised. This formula is also known to work well on acne scaring and is helps to eliminate any redness. The fragrance free gel contains Salicylic acid which is known for its natural anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties which also helps to Stimulates collagen production for firmer, younger-looking skin.

This product really is amazing for keeping your skin in check. My skin is bright, clean and smooth. I very rarely break out and when I do they are practically gone the very next day. I find it very easy to use as it’s a gel you put on under your moisturiser, not a daily scrub you have to use 3 times a week. It makes my daily routine much easier knowing that I am getting the benefits of an exfoliator everyday. I  recommend this product to teenagers who have a hormonal skin. I’m sure this will work wonders to clear up your skin and have it looking fresh in no time.

I have been reviewing Paula’s range over the last week and can honestly say how impressed I am with the range.

The first few days of using the skin balancing cleanser I didn’t really notice any major changes in my skin but as the days went on one morning I noticed that my skin was so soft to touch, I can honestly say something I have never been able to say before “my skin felt like a baby’s bottom” it was so smooth and silky.  It’s a no fuss cleanser, it doesn’t come in any fancy sexy packaging or does it have an amazing yummy smell, however it gets the job done!

Looking at my face in the mirror I could see I had a glow and my skin felt and looked very fresh and clean, the cleanser is very gentle and only foams lightly as oppose to over foaming and taking over your face. I also noticed the reduction in the size of pores on my face. It quickly dissolves makeup and grime and is very gentle on the eyes.

I have combination skin with an oily T-zone area which can be quite a pain. I wake every morning with a very greasy shiny t-zone area but since using the Skin balancing cleanser it has minimised the grease and shine. I also suffer from dry patches on my cheeks which have also vanished.

I tend to break out around my periodical cycle; my skin just looks awful and dull. It just so happens I was reviewing the range around this time and noticed that my skin actually stayed very well balanced throughout. All in all an amazing range but I would love to hear from people who have been using the range long-term to see if it does carry on working.

You can buy Paula’s skincare range at www.paulaschoice.co.uk. Also check out her new book ‘Don’t go to the cosmetics counter without me’ the 8th edition. It really does give you a major insight into the beauty industry and whats good for our skin 🙂
