Caudalie was created in 1995 by Bertrand and Mathilde Thomas, their belief in natural formulas carried them forward and for more than 15 years they have been researching with Dr. Vercauteren from the university of Pharmacy of Bordeaux (France).

I went along to the press launch of Caudalie’s new moisturiser ‘Vinosource Quenching Sorbet-Creme’. It was a lovely event at Caudalie’s head office in london. On arrival I was greeted and introduced to John the Director of the company and Loraine the beauty expert and was offered refreshments. After having a little natter with the fellow bloggers we were asked to sit through a presentation on the company and the new product. After the presentation ended we were all whisked upstairs to have a play with the product and have a one-on-one consultation with the Caudalie Beauty expert. Loraine (Beauty expert) had an in-depth chat with me about my skin and its concerns, after examining my skin she then wrote me a prescription of Caudalie products and handed me over a lovely Caudalie goody bag.

Funny enough I learnt so much at the presentation, my pen could not write fast enough :p.

Caudalie team up with Dr Joseph Vercauteren and established an exclusive patent for extracting and stabilizing grape seed polyphenols. These Polyphenols are apparently the best antioxidants known to the plant world and can only be founded in vine. Some of the key ingredients you will find in the ‘Vinosource Quenching Sorbet-Creme’:

Grape water When the vine is subjected to very harsh weather conditions it protects itself, storing its water in it shoots and roots. Grape water is extracted during the harvesting period. It is rich in Polysaccharides that have the ability to capture and conserve the quantity it needs within its cells. Clinical results show a 127% increase in hydration immediately after application. Grape water is also rich in potassium and calcium which help to sooth the skin. Clinical test show that it reduces discomfort and dryness by 62%.

Vinolevure-  (Exclusive to Caudalie) is a molecule extracted from the walls of wine yeast. It has hydration, strengthening qualities and can conserve up to 100 times its weight in water, this prevents dehydration of the epidermis.

Grape-seed Polyphenols- The grape seed Polyphenols are the most powerful antioxidants in the plant kingdom and are 10,000 times more effective than Vitamin E (how interesting). They act as a shield for the skin protecting from any external damage and helping the skin to maintain its hyaluronic acid content. They also protect the skin’s collagen fibres and elastin.

The ingredients sound so important and amazing, I am very much looking forward to get cracking and bring you guys some reviews after I have used the range. Caudalie lovers… I want to hear from you, what are your favorite products and why do you love the brand so much? Contact me I would love to hear from you 🙂
