It seems that more and more women are trying to make a change in the world of skincare and beauty. Recently the rise in skincare brands has really risen, each trying to offer the very best in skincare but how do we know that the offered products will work and give us the long-term benefits that we need instead of just results that last a few weeks and then stop working? Some of you may believe that plastic surgery and other alternative treatments like Botox can be the answer to some of your problems but I have always been a firm believer in ‘GOOD’ skincare. I think we really need to go back to basics and source out individuals who know the industry and find skincare brands that really do have the ingredients that work well and impact our skin.

Paula Begoun also known as ‘The cosmetics cop’ is a US based beauty expert and his been in the industry for 30 years, she has many published books which give you extensive knowledge into the beauty industry. Her expertise have lead her to appear on various shows including Oprah, CNN and The today show. She is also a consultant to dermatologists, plastic surgeons, major cosmetic companies and industry insiders. This woman really does sound like the ‘superwoman’ of the beauty industry.

Paula’s New book ‘Dont go to the cosmetics counter without me’ 8th edition is now available to buy. It delves deep into the beauty industry with a compilation of skincare facts really allowing you to get to grips with how certain products work and how to achieve the best results for your skin type. There is also a section for product reviews and beauty must haves. Some of the titled chapters in the book are ‘Why you need a cosmetics cop!’ ‘The best products’ and ‘How to take the best care of your skin’. I’m not sure about you but I have just added this book to the top of my reading list.

Paula has also launched her own range of skincare called ‘Paula’s Choice’, an in depth range targeting all skin types. A woman with so much experience why wouldn’t she?  Over the next few weeks I will be extensively testing Paula’s skincare range and really getting to know her products, I will also be reading her book to see what beauty tips she has for me.

You can buy Paula’s new book online and view her Skincare line at www.Paulaschoice.co.uk

Let me know how you get on and your thoughts on the book and the range 🙂 I will be posting regular reviews on the products im using so keep and eye out.

Ingrowing hairs and razor bumps for me has been an ongoing problem for years, No matter what I did I could not seem to get those silky smooth legs I long desired. I had tried everything, different forms of hair removal, exfoliation treatments you name it I tried it.

I discovered PFB vanish roughly 6 months ago and I can honestly say my legs have not looked better. PFB  contains gentle exfolliants that lift ingrown hair quickly to the surface, as well as clearing dead skin cells and blocked pores. This product can be used on all areas you shave and is unbeatable for ingrown hair, razor rash and many other problems related to post hair removal. PFB Vanish has an anti inflammatory, anti bacterial and antiseptic action which makes its perfect to use on pimples, spots and mild acne.

I set myself a routine of using this products 2x a day for the first week and then cut it down. I noticed a difference straight away, the ingrown hair’s were not as bad and my legs looked more smooth, also the razor bumps were hardly noticable.

I use the rollerball version as i find its a lot more hygienic especially if you are using it on multiple areas of your body.

I’ve read quite a few negative reviews on this product and really am wondering why? Dont get me wrong, this treatment takes time, it’s not magic and your legs are NOT going to be perfect over night but if you stick to it and be patient I can guarantee you will notice a difference.

Give it a try and let me know how you ladies get on 🙂

These babies are amazing, I first started using Sleek eyeshadow when my mum bought me all the palettes available as a christmas stocking filler. The colours are amazing and come in all different themes. The high density of pigment in the colour means they last a long time and you don’t have to over apply. I have been using these non stop since Dec 2009 and I still have not seen the bottom of them.

If you are looking for amazing eyeshadow and great quality at a fraction of the price of higher priced makeup brands then Sleek is the answer to your problem.

Available at Superdrugs- £4.99 per palette. Absolute bargain 🙂 Have try of the colours and let me know how you get on.

A clinically proven system that gives you salon professional quality in your own home, what more could you possibly want?

This easy to use system with touch screen and applicator makes hair removal a breeze, tailored to your skin and hair type just simply select the options that apply to you and off you go. It is suitable to use on the face and body (excluding eyebrows).

How it works

Light emitted during the flash from the applicator is absorbed by the melanin in your skin which is then converted into thermal energy. This heat penetrates deep into the vessel of the hair follicle causing it to fall out and never grow back again. This technology is being introduced into high-end salons and used by many hair removal therapists.

The system promises to leave you hair free within 10-12 treatments, with only one or two touch ups a year to maintain silky smooth hairless skin. The first initial treatment takes up to 1 week before you start to see the results. After 4 weeks from your first inital treatment you will notice patches of hair growing back, this will require a touch up session.

The appealing system comes in a number of  snazzy colours, it has a friendly feel to it unlike other hair removal systems which can be daunting to use. The pain-free aspect of the system is what appeals to me the most, after you get over the initial first zap of shock you come to realise the system isn’t actually at all painful, you place the applicator on the desired area after choosing your desired settings and of course putting on your safety goggles and away you go. You’ll hear a beeping noise and then a pulse of heat, that’s all there is to it.

Treatments should have a gap of 6-8 weeks, during this time you continue to shave if you wish, gradually you notice less and less hair.

A truly amazing system which really does make hair removal of this kind appealing.

Retail RRP £1450 (approx) , but in the long run you save money as treatments with this technology in a salon do not come cheap.
