One of the main things a woman is always searching for… (no not the perfect black cocktail dress) is a anti-aging moisturiser. You’d think with all the options currently available the perfect anti aging formula would be an easy find, however most anti-aging formulas that you see don’t exactly do what they promise and at the prices we now see on the high street with Moisturisers selling at £25 + this can be a major problem, not to mention a waste of money!

Paula Begoun aka ‘The cosmetics cop’ brings us her Resist range. A quick, easy and stress free system which consists of two products the ‘Resist Barrier Repair Moisturiser’ and the ‘Rest Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum’

The ‘Resist Barrier Repair Moisturiser’ is a silky formula that provides hydration to all skin types and reduces free radical and environmental damage. The magic formulation helps ‘Resist’ wrinkles and is also great for sensitive and rosacea skin types.

Being aged 24 I don’t just yet have the need to use a anti-aging moisturiser however there is a strong need for me to review them for my readers, so my lovely mother reviews all the anti-aging ranges for me.

My mum being aged 45 has pretty good skin, with the normal signs of aging being open pores, loss of elasticity and fine lines around the eyes. She is always on the hunt for a good moisturiser and found Paula’s choice Resist range very good. After just two weeks of using the ‘Resist Barrier Moisturiser’ there was a noticeable difference, pores were reduced in size and the skins elasticity had improved, the skin is also very soft, hydrated and makeup sits very well compared to when using other moisturisers. In all a great anti-aging moisturiser, if you’re looking for results and are fed up of paying high street prices, try out Paula’s Choice Resist range and let me know how you get on. It’s always nice to have feedback on products I review. If you are a Paula’s Choice user please tell me about your experience with the range, I would love to hear from you 🙂

Introducing AVON’s SuperMagnify mascara, a new formula which coats each lash with precision ensuring your lashes look elongated all day long!

The water proof solution wraps around each individual lash for up to 600% more volume. The smooth glide formula containing micro beads allows the lashes to bounce off one another so flakes and clumps are not an issue. The mascara wand features a 1000 bristle brush to your whole lash is covered, leaving no lashes untouched.

I received this mascara a few days ago and for someone who is very picky when it comes down to her mascara’s I was VERY impressed with this one. I have very long, thick and full eyelashes so I need a mascara that is not too clumpy, something that lengthens my lashes and lasts all day long.

I had to compare this mascara with one that I was currently using,  I dressed one lash with my old mascara and one lash with the SuperMagnify, there was a vast different, the SuperMagnify dressed my lashes perfectly, elongating every strand of hair,t hey looked so pretty and chique whereas the other side looked clumpy and flaky. The one thing I did notice with the SuperMagnify is that I need to brush the lashes a few times to get them dark enough the formula could do with being a little darker with a slight thickness just to give the lashes a more fuller look but other than that this mascara scores top marks for me.

Try it out ladies and let me know how you get on

SuperMagnify £8.50 www.avonshop.co.uk or from your local AVON rep.

French couture design house Hervé Léger teams up with cosmetics and beauty brand Avon to launch its very first fragrance.

Originally founded in 1985 and acquired by the BCBGMAXAZRIA group in 1998, the brand has come a long way. Since debuting the collection at New York fashion week in 2008 the brand has been featured in many top publications worldwide and started a frenzy amongst celebrity clients.

The fragrance is aimed at woman who want to feel  sexy and empowered. The seductive woody scent, with a hint of chinese magnolia, Sicilian pink grapefruit, morrocan orange and the provocative scent’s of cypress wood and vanilla really does scream sexy and confident.

I cannot say I am a fan of Avon fragrances, I always find that the scent doesn’t linger for very long. I am also very sensitive to certain smells, due to migraines. I have always been the type to always stick to what I know when it comes down to perfumes. This scent is beautiful, its floral without being to simple, fruity without being to zesty or zingy.   Personally for me, not a perfume I could wear everyday as it does have a strong, powerful aroma but it is a perfume I would definitely wear on a night out.

So ladies if you are looking for a seductive, sexy and powerful scent order yours online at www.avonshop.co.uk. I would love your thoughts on the scent 🙂

After 15 year’s of being a leading and highly regarded skincare brand Liz Earle has finally Launched ‘cleanse and polish’ for hair. The new haircare range launches on the 2nd sept 2010.‘Botantical shine shampoo’ is a revolutionary plant based formula that suits all hair and scalp types. The amazing blend is packed with over 89% naturally derived ingredients and a very special cleansing agent derived from coconut. leaving your hair feeling and looking like you have used a salon professional shampoo, whilst being SLS and SLES free, gentle enough to use on the most sensitive of hair and scalp types, a shampoo the whole family can enjoy. Liz Earle also introduces 3 high performance, colour safe ‘Botanical shine conditioners’ which work in force with the shampoo to give you the best results, leaving your hair detangled, shiny and ready to be styled. The formula contains over 95% naturally derived ingredients, each conditioner is formulated with special botanical ingredients tailored to your hair type to deliver the very best of results.

Like the iconic ‘Cleanse and polish’ that works for all skin types, ‘Botanical shine shampoo’ has been formulated to do exactly the same. Some of the ingredients include natural vitamin E, aloe vera, west african shea butter, apple and orange extracts. All working together to gently cleanse and restore shine without stripping.

The ‘Botanical shine conditioners’ work in harmony with the ‘Botanical shine shampoo’ for maximum results. The conditioners are tailored to your hair types and each different conditioner has key ingredients to target your hair type. Kenyan Yangu oil being a rare and main ingredient. Kenyan yangu oil is known for its moisturising properties, It is hand pressed from seeds which are hand collected by local tribes. Liz Earle naturally active hair care range is both beautiful and appealing. Local tribes that assist with the collection of these seeds are benefitting through earnings that contribute towards food, water supplies and schooling for children.

I attended the press event yesterday (18/08/2010) at the Liz Earle flagship store in Sloane Square, Kings Road. It was a lovely afternoon and brilliant to meet people who are so passionate about the brand they work for. Jennifer who does all the plant research explained about all the hard work that goes into choosing ingredients for the products, it was great meeting individuals who are really involved in the process. I also met Liz Earle herself, who gave her insight into the brand and the story behind launching a hair care range. As some of you may know, the Liz Earle brand was launched because business partners Liz and Kim wanted to find a skincare range for their own skin types. Liz having dry eczema prone skin and Kim being the opposite with oily skin. The hair care range came about due to customer demand  and Liz wanting a range that would suit her hair as it suited her skin.

As soon as I got home from the press event I had to try the samples, The shampoo is so soft, the more water you use the more it lather’s. You don’t have to use large amounts, 7ml per wash is the recommended amount (this is for long hair types) if you have shorter hair you can use less. I was also surprised at the fact that you only need to wash your hair once with this shampoo. I find with other conventional shampoo’s I have to wash my hair 2-3 times.

Now I know I have only used the shampoo once and you are all probably wondering why I am singing its praises already but I can honestly say that I could feel the difference when washing my hair. The texture changed the moment I lathered up my hair. It felt so soft and clean and the smell is to die for. The conditioner is also amazing, as soon as it was applied I was able to run my fingers through my hair, something I could not do with normal conditioners.

I will be reviewing the range over the next few weeks and will do some in depth write ups on how different my hair looks and feels. If your Liz Earle fans or even new to the range and looking for a new shampoo, pre order yours at www.lizearle.com/Haircare. The price range is very affordable for what you are get in return at £7.50 for the Botanical shine shampoo and £7.50 for each conditioner. Usage at 7ml means this shampoo will last you 29 washes.
complete bargain is what I say.

Check out the full Liz Earle range at www.lizearle.com or go check out the store in Sloane Square, Kings Road, Chelsea.

Let me know how you ladies get on when you have tried it 🙂

After cleansing your face with Paula’s Choice skin balancing cleanser and applying the fabulous Skin balancing toner (review to come shortly) You apply this magic non sticky, light weight gel over your face and then finish with Paula’s choice skin balancing gel.

This exfoliater gel glides on to the skin so easily, penetrating and minimising pores. I have noticed how clean and smooth my skin looks, I apply it either daily or every two days and it has worked wonders for me. I don’t break out as much and my pores seem minimised. This formula is also known to work well on acne scaring and is helps to eliminate any redness. The fragrance free gel contains Salicylic acid which is known for its natural anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties which also helps to Stimulates collagen production for firmer, younger-looking skin.

This product really is amazing for keeping your skin in check. My skin is bright, clean and smooth. I very rarely break out and when I do they are practically gone the very next day. I find it very easy to use as it’s a gel you put on under your moisturiser, not a daily scrub you have to use 3 times a week. It makes my daily routine much easier knowing that I am getting the benefits of an exfoliator everyday. I  recommend this product to teenagers who have a hormonal skin. I’m sure this will work wonders to clear up your skin and have it looking fresh in no time.

Ciaté is a new British brand founded and developed by celebrity manicurist Charlotte Straughan. Charlotte’s many years experience on the catwalk and In salon has given her the know how on how to develop a Nail paint that works and lasts. Having already launched ‘ciaté feet treats’ and ‘Manicure must haves’ they have now introduced a fabulous range of Nail polishes called ‘Ciaté paint pots’ in 35 amazing colours.

Ciaté paint pots feature a unique optimum 250 flat bristle brush giving you an even, neat and precise finish.

I’ve been wearing ‘Mistress’ from the ‘Reds’ range and have to agree that the brush does leave you with a very neat finish. The nail looks smooth and brush stroke free, leaving my nails looking sexy and smooth.

Being a hygiene freak I tend to wash my hands a numerous amount of times throughout the day. Most nail enamels I apply chip on the very first day of application after my excessive hand washing but Ciaté paint pots didn’t chip at  all. I also swim twice a week and chlorine wreaks havoc on my manicure but the colour did not fade or chip, it passed the chlorine test with flying colours. I noticed the first signs of chips on the 5th day, for me this is amazing results. The only downer I found was that the varnish itself is very thin, after two applications I could still see my nail underneath so a third layer had to be applied.

Check out the Ciaté paint pots (£9) at www.ciate.co.uk, they really do have some mouth watering colours. Let me know what colours are your faves ladies 🙂

I have been reviewing Paula’s range over the last week and can honestly say how impressed I am with the range.

The first few days of using the skin balancing cleanser I didn’t really notice any major changes in my skin but as the days went on one morning I noticed that my skin was so soft to touch, I can honestly say something I have never been able to say before “my skin felt like a baby’s bottom” it was so smooth and silky.  It’s a no fuss cleanser, it doesn’t come in any fancy sexy packaging or does it have an amazing yummy smell, however it gets the job done!

Looking at my face in the mirror I could see I had a glow and my skin felt and looked very fresh and clean, the cleanser is very gentle and only foams lightly as oppose to over foaming and taking over your face. I also noticed the reduction in the size of pores on my face. It quickly dissolves makeup and grime and is very gentle on the eyes.

I have combination skin with an oily T-zone area which can be quite a pain. I wake every morning with a very greasy shiny t-zone area but since using the Skin balancing cleanser it has minimised the grease and shine. I also suffer from dry patches on my cheeks which have also vanished.

I tend to break out around my periodical cycle; my skin just looks awful and dull. It just so happens I was reviewing the range around this time and noticed that my skin actually stayed very well balanced throughout. All in all an amazing range but I would love to hear from people who have been using the range long-term to see if it does carry on working.

You can buy Paula’s skincare range at www.paulaschoice.co.uk. Also check out her new book ‘Don’t go to the cosmetics counter without me’ the 8th edition. It really does give you a major insight into the beauty industry and whats good for our skin 🙂
